'Supergirl' Episode 2 Spoilers: Can Supergirl Fight Villain Astra Who Has Her Mother's Face?

The premiere of "Supergirl" was given a thumbs up by most and the audience seems to have liked Melissa Benoist as Supergirl. The second episode of "Supergirl" dives straight into action and a family-conflict zone. It will mark the entry of Astra, the new villain that Supergirl has to fight with. But can she take down Astra as Astra is none other than her aunt and her mother's twin sister no less?

The official synopsis of the new episode of the CBS series, "Supergirl," says: "When Kara's attempts to help National City don't go according to plan, she must put aside the doubts that she – and the city's media – has about her abilities in order to capture an escapee from the Kryptonian prison, Fort Rozz. Also, Cat pressures James to use his connection to Superman to get her an interview with Supergirl."

In the premiere episode, viewers saw that Kara, whose ship was knocked into the Phantom Zone by shockwaves coming from the explosion of her planet Krypton, is now free from the zone and has crash-landed on earth. Once on earth, she has great self-doubts about her destiny as saviour of National City. But Kara overcomes this. She and friend Winn Schott design a superhero costume for her and Kara is off as Supergirl to fight criminals.

The premiere episode had a lot of things in it. Viewers now know that some people do know the identity of Supergirl. First of all, there is Hank Henshaw, who is the head of a secret agency. Then there is Kara's sister, Alex, and co-workers Winn and James Olsen.

When Kara comes to earth through the Phantom Zone, another thing also broke through - a Kryptonian maximum security prison full of criminals. These criminals had been imprisoned in Krypton by Kara's mother. Now these criminals will hound Kara on earth to seek revenge.

At the end of the episode, it was revealed that Kara's aunt, Astra, played by Laura Benanti, is the main villain for some episodes at least. Astra is also Kara's mother's twin sister. So Supergirl will have all the more trouble dealing with Astra. Also, Kara had thought that her aunt was dead. She is certain to have emotional issues when she realised she will have to kill Astra, who is family and who has her mother's face.

In the upcoming episode, James, Kara's friend is put in an inconvenient situation when Kara's boss, Cat, asks him to somehow get an interview with Supergirl as soon as possible.
