'Supergirl' Season 1 News: Seven More Episodes Picked Up by CBS

There is good news for fans of the new series "Supergirl" as it was recently announced that the series will be picked up by CBS.

It was reported that the newest female superhero series will be having seven more episodes after being picked up by CBS. This will make the first season total to 20 episodes.

However, it was mentioned that it will not be like a regular series as it has two fewer episodes than usual. This was due to the delayed start of the series, as well as some expenses for the same series.

There has yet to be any news on whether the show will be renewed for a second season since it is still on its 6th episode currently. Its renewal will have to depend on the rest of the season's performance and ratings.

However, the series has been successful so far, despite the most recent drop in the ratings, managing to gain the title of most-watched debut this fall. In addition, it has complemented its companion DC universe series such as "Arrow" and "The Flash."

Meanwhile, details of the upcoming episode of "Supergirl" season 1 have been revealed. It was reported that Kara, played by Melissa Benoist, will have to go through the episode without her powers. Apparently, she will be without her powers for 24 hours. With that, the episode will be titled "Human for a Day."

According to We Got This Covered, the synopsis reads, "Kara and her friends must rely on their inner strength and courage when an earthquake strikes National City. Also, Alex's mistrust of Hank reaches a breaking point when the earthquake traps them in the DEO with Jemm (Charles Halford), a powerful alien escapee, on SUPERGIRL."

"Supergirl" season 1 episode 7 is expected to air on Dec. 7.
