'Supergirl' Season 2 Episode 16 Spoilers: Winn's Girlfriend Problem Continues

Winn (Jeremy Jordan) will once again realize how dangerous it is to be involved with an alien in the upcoming episode of "Supergirl."

In the episode titled "Star-Crossed," the synopsis (according to TV Guide) reveals that Lyra (Tamzin Merchant) will get in trouble with the law. As her boyfriend, Winn will also be implicated, putting his job in the DEO in peril. When he started to date the Starhaven refugee, he had been warned that a relationship with her might not work. Lyra is an extraterrestrial who sought sanctuary on Earth when her home planet was destroyed. Winn met her when he was about to be attacked by two aliens in a bar.

Winn and Lyra's relationship quickly progressed. When Cadmus kidnapped her and the other DEO agents, Winn worried about her safety. With the organization intent on rounding up aliens living on Earth, Lyra is always in danger. This time around, the government is coming to get her.

Maggie (Floriana Lima) will reportedly want to help Winn, but "old loyalties will get in the way." As a detective, Maggie has sworn to follow the law. If Lyra has done something wrong, she has no choice but to turn her in, even if it means hurting her newfound friend, Winn.

In a previous interview with Entertainment Weekly, Jordan talked about the Winn-Lyra storyline. He hinted that complications would arise the longer the couple stays together. Lyra has secrets that will eventually be revealed, putting her relationship with Winn at risk.

"In our world strong-willed women and women who are powerful in their own ways tend to have other things going on, so we find out that there are secrets. But for the first few episodes that we see Winn and Lyra, it's more about discovering how their relationship fits into this new world that we're discovering on Supergirl," Jordon teased EW.

"Supergirl" season 2 airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EDT on the CW.
