'Supergirl' Season 2 Episode 18: Biomax Makes His Move Against Kara

Jack Spheer (Rahul Kohli) is shaping up to become Kara's (Melissa Benoist) next nemesis in the upcoming episode of "Supergirl."

In the episode titled "Ace Reporter," the promo reveals glimpses of the technology genius who is meant to become Biomax, the mind-controlling villain, in the series. Jack has arrived in National City to showcase his new invention to the press – an innovation that will eradicate the major diseases in the world. Kara's boss, Snapper (Ian Gomez), has taken interest in the charismatic scientist. He urged her to cover Jack's press conferences a number of times.

Jack is the ex-boyfriend of Lena (Katie McGrath). The teaser shows them sharing a kiss. Previously, Lena told Kara that she has nothing to do with her mother's evil plans. With Jack turning out to be Kara's new adversary, will this be the turning point for Lena as well?

Meanwhile, Kara's problems with Mon-El's (Chris Wood) parents are far from over, at least with Rhea (Teri Hatcher). It was made clear last episode that she has no plans of leaving her son on Earth where he can be with Kara.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Benoist hinted that Mon-El and his Daxamite people would be huge threats sooner or later. Rhea has in no way accepted Kara as her son's girlfriend. She is pretty much against the relationship. When her husband tricked her into leaving Earth without Mon-El, she made it clear that she will return and get him back. For now, Mon-El is determined to stay with Kara. Will his decision remain the same when Rhea makes her move?

"Isn't that how things work that just when you get things settled, some wrench has to fall into the gears? The Daxamites pose some problems. Rhea is not necessarily a sweet prospect for a mother-in-law, but it's really fun to see the way these characters interact," Benoist said, according to EW.

"Supergirl" season 2 episode 18 will air Monday, April 24 at 8 p.m. EDT on the CW.
