'Supergirl' Season 3 Rumors: Kara and Reign Are Co-Workers

While Samantha (Odette Annable) will become the big bad to challenge Kara/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) in the upcoming season 3 of "Supergirl," it has been revealed that she and Kara have already known and worked with each other all along even before she embraces her destiny as the Kryptonian World Killer, Reign.

In a recent interview, Annable revealed that Samantha and Kara have already been working together when her character debuts in the popular DC series on The CW. While the actress did not directly say that Samantha and Kara are going to be co-workers in the story, it is now suspected that it will be the case as she also said that she has yet to film scenes with David Harewood (J'onn) and Chyler Leigh (Alex).

While it remains unclear what Samantha's profession will be and if she is, indeed, Kara's co-worker, it is seems that the would-be villain of the popular series will establish a personal connection with the Girl of Steel's alter-ego.

"They can absolutely relate to each other on [the struggles of what it means to be human], on very polar opposite playing fields. But they [also] have so much in common — not just because they're from Krypton and from the same place, probably came in on a pod, but absolutely. Their storylines are very parallel — one will go one way and one will, unfortunately, go the other," Annable revealed in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly.

Meanwhile, apart from Samantha, who will eventually become the big bad Reign once she discovers her Kryptonian lineage, "Supergirl" season 3 has also thrown other villains into the mix to challenge the Girl of Steel's Kryptonian might, including Bloodsport (Robert DuBois), Morgan Edge (Adrian Pasdar), and Psi (Yael Grobglas).

"Supergirl" returns to The CW for its season 3 this Monday, Oct. 9 at 8 p.m. EDT.
