'Supergirl' Season 3 Spoilers, Cast News: Kara and Alex Go Back to Midvale; Jesse Rath to Play Brainiac 5
The upcoming episode of "Supergirl" season 3 will see Kara (Melissa Benoist) and Alex (Chyler Leigh) going back to Midvale.
The synopsis of the next episode, titled "Midvale," states that Kara and Alex will be in much need of a break. Seeking to get away from it all, the sisters will travel home to Midvale. Fans will be treated so some flashbacks of when the two Danvers were younger, as Kara will remember a painful childhood memory involving a friend's death that ultimately made her and Alex closer.
The previous episode, titled "Damage," saw Alex and Maggie (Floriana Lima) break up because they had different views of their future. It was certainly an emotional experience for Alex, and executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told Variety that the feelings do not stop there. He also previewed a new fling for Alex, though he did not specify which episode it will take place.

"Episode 6 is a very emotional episode for Alex, but it's a fun episode for the audience because it takes them back to Midvale – the town the two grew up in – to hide out in their childhood home until Alex can get up off the couch again," he teased. "Then she will have a fun, and funny, hookup in the months to come."
Maggie was written out of the show because Lima opted not to return full time. That said, Kreisberg assures that she will still be mentioned in some episodes and that the door is always open for her to return.
"Just because Floriana isn't on the show, it doesn't mean Maggie is forgotten," he said. "It's always our hope that if we can work out the right story and timing that she will come back."
In other news, according to TVLine, Jesse Rath of "Defiance" has been tapped to play Brainiac 5, an ally of Kara's and possible love interest. He is set to make his first appearance in episode 10.
"Supergirl" season 3 airs Mondays, at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
