'Supergirl' Series News, Rumor: Important Character to Die in Series' Finale Episode?

With a record of killing off characters in the shows that he executively produces, Greg Berlanti was recently asked by Entertainment Weekly if "Supergirl's" season finale episode will feature deaths, too. While the producer affirmed the speculation, his answer on the question if viewers can expect someone dying in the Girl of Steel's final episode was vague.

"Yes, you should… only because it would be a lot less exciting if I said no," Berlanti said.

"Arrow" and "The Flash," which Berlanti produces, too, featured the deaths of important characters in the shows towards their respective finale episodes, specifically Moira Queen for "Arrow" and Eddie Thawne for "The Flash."

"Supergirl" has only two episodes left before its season one folds on April 18. According to Mary Sue, the final episode is titled "Better Angels," which will reveal an unexpected enemy that Supergirl will battle.

"Supergirl is forced to do battle with an unexpected foe and must risk everything - including her life - to prevent Non and Indigo from destroying every person on the planet, on the first season finale of SUPERGIRL, Monday, April 18 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network," goes the description of the anticipated episode.

Mary Sue also revealed that based on the stills of the final episode, Helen Slater's Eliza Danvers character will be returning. However, the website opined that the photo of Supergirl kissing the forehead of J'onn J'onzz's may be suggestive of a scene that may cause tears to well among its viewers. If Mary Sue is correct with its observation, it can only be speculated if the death that Berlanti has hinted about will involve that of J'onn J'onzz's.

Meanwhile, prior to the final episode of "Supergirl," though, avid viewers of the show will be treated to another exciting episode titled "Myriad." The episode, which will be shown on April 11, features Supergirl returning to Superman's Fortress of Solitude and former WWE Diva Eve Torres portraying the alien villain Maxima.

"Kara must find a way to free her friends when Non (Chris Vance) and Indigo (Laura Vandervoort) use mind control to turn National City's citizens into their own army," goes the synopsis of "Supergirl's" "Myriad" episode.
