'Supergirl' Star Melissa Benoist's Divorce From Blake Jenner Is Finalized

Melissa Benoist and Blake Jenner's divorce has been finalized.

The "Supergirl" star and her ex-husband cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split in December 2016, TMZ reports. Since they did not have any kids together, their divorce settlement mostly involved their shared properties. Their final agreement was not filed with the court but both parties have clarified who gets what in the divorce.

Court documents obtained by PEOPLE also indicate that either party did not seek spousal support. In addition, the actress requested her legal name to be changed back to Melissa Benoist.

Jenner and Benoist first met while starring on "Glee" together in 2012. They then decided to tie the knot in 2013. The duo has always been vocal about their relationship and were never shy about posing together on red carpets. Last year, Benoist gushed over Jenner's appearance on her series "Supergirl" for two episodes.

"We only have fun working together," said Benoist. "He's my person to act with. He's my favorite scene partner, always."

While the estranged couple have not publicly opened up about their separation, a source revealed to Us Weekly that it had something to do with their conflicting schedules. It is believed their time at work had come between them since she films "Supergirl" in Vancouver, Canada.

A few months following Benoist's divorce filing, she was seen getting extra close with her fellow "Supergirl" cast member Chris Wood. He was previously linked to actress Hanna Mangan Lawrence but they reportedly split in January.

Wood stars in The CW's superhero drama as Benoist's on-screen love interest, Mon-El. The lead actress has yet to confirm their rumored romance.

"Supergirl" season 3 returns Monday, Jan. 15, on The CW.
