'Supergirl', 'The Flash' News, Spoilers: Grant Gustin Hints At Wider DC Universe Crossover, Supergirl To Show Identity

The upcoming crossover episode featuring Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and The Flash (Grant Gustin) may lead to a larger crossover involving both superheroes, Green Arrow (Stephen Amell), and the Legends of Tomorrow.

Only a few days remain until fans of both Supergirl and The Flash get to see the two teaming up for the first time on the small screen. In the upcoming crossover episode, the speedster from Central City will be lending the caped superheroine from National City a helping hand as she battles two female villains: Siobhan Smythe/Silver Banshee (Italia Ricci) and Leslie Willis/Livewire (Brit Morgan).

But as thrilling as this crossover may be, Benoist and Gustin may be preparing for an even bigger crossover event.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Andrew Kreisberg, who executive produces both CBS' "Supergirl" and The CW's "The Flash," spoke about one of the most anticipated scenes in the crossover. As they do in the DC Comics, Supergirl and The Flash will engage in a footrace to see who is the faster superhero in "Worlds Finest," the crossover episode.

"It's one of my favorite moments in this episode," Kreisberg told EW.

As for the result of the race, he said, "It's close."

Could a rematch then be a possibility?

"That's in the cards at this point," Gustin answered. "The whole point of us doing this crossover is setting up the fact that maybe next year we can cross over all of them."

Meanwhile, in the next episode of "Supergirl," Kara will be debating on revealing her secret identity to someone new. Though a handful of characters in "Supergirl" already know who Kara really is, she will reportedly try to figure out whether or not she can trust someone else with her secret.

"It is this ethical dilemma," Benoist told EW. "Also, it's a really big risk to trust someone with that, because if people were to find out that she was Kara Danvers, and her civilian life were to be ruined, the possibility of having any semblance of a normal life at all is gone."

The "Supergirl"/"The Flash" crossover airs Monday, March 28, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
