'Supernatural' Season 10 Spoilers: Comic Con Reveals Demon Dean, Hints About 200th Episode and More
"Supernatural" showrunners provided fans with dozens of clues about the upcoming 10th season during this year's Comic Con this week.
The season nine finale saw Dean Winchester turned into a demon, but his brother Sam and friend Castiel have yet to realize the problem. "Supernatural" executive producer Jeremy Carver discussed the strain Dean's possession will have on the brothers in the final days of Comic Con.
"It has an enormous effect on the season and on the brothers," Carver said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "It's part of the opening episodes. Sam, in particular, [digs into] how to rescue his brother. Dean … struggles with exactly what that means."

Furthermore, the demon allows the Winchester brothers to confront bigger issues.
"Myself and the other writers are excited most of all that the idea of these brothers questioning who the real monster is," Carver said. "It's great and it's exciting and emotional and fun."
Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki, who portray Dean and Sam, respectively, also attended Comic Con when a first look at Demon Dean was revealed. Ackles explained that a character change in his character Dean was welcomed.
"This is actually Dean's soul that is twisted," he said. "It was interesting trying to make it a different character but at the same time the same character – but twisted and demonic."
As for Castiel, portrayed by Mischa Collins, the angel will spend much of season 10 "helping Dean getting patched up" instead of "recovering his own powers," the actor said.
In addition to the excitement surrounding the 10th season of The CW series, "Supernatural" will also hit its 200th episode this year. The episode, which arrives this November and has "musical-ish" elements, will be "a love letter to fans," Carver promised.
"It's wonderful to thank you guys on screen," Padalecki added.
"Apparently Demon Dean likes to karaoke, or does he," Ackles teased.
"Supernatural" season 10 premieres on The CW on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 9 p.m. EST.
