'Supernatural' season 11 news, cast, spoilers: More carnage comes as darkness takes over

If there's anything that "Supernatural" succeeded on, it's building a strong fan base that has obviously stuck with them until now that the show is entering its 11th season. Aside from the supernatural elements, the main thing that actually makes the show popular is the endless devotion of the Winchester brothers, Sam (Jared Padelecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles), to each other. This devotion is challenged each season as the brothers' lives continuously alternate being in main jeopardy.

Last season, they had to deal with Dean carrying the mark of Cain. Now, if the pattern is any indication, it just may be Sam's turn once again. The latest trailer released further supports this speculation, as Sam is seen during the first few seconds of the trailer tied with blood running down his head.

The latest trailer was featured in a Screen Rant report with short clips that give fans an idea of just how much the brothers will be dealing this season, and it definitely seems a lot. What makes this season much more different than the others is the fact that they will be dealing with an entity they had never encountered before, The Darkness, which is seen taking over in the beginning of the clip. The Darkness is shown to cause havoc unlike no other. Stories about The Darkness go back before angels and demons. It's no wonder why Sam is heard saying some time in the middle of the trailer, "God help us all," because frankly, God may be the only one who could do so at this point.

Another problem this season would also be Castiel (Misha Collins). It looks like the spell of Rowena (Ruth Connell) just might be getting a hold of him, which is too strong even for him to handle. In the promo, Castiel is seen to be failing miserably in handling the situation and things might take turn for the worst, as he is seen tied to a chair, screaming with bloody eyes.

Viewers will just have to wait for what Sam and Dean will be able to pull up their sleeves and face their strongest enemy to date as the season 11 of Supernatural airs on Oct. 7, Wednesday, 9/8c on The CW.
