'Supernatural' Season 13 Episode 2 Spoilers: Mary Helps Lucifer Take Down a Villain
Mary (Samantha Smith) will try to help Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino) fight Alt-Michael (Christian Keyes) in the upcoming episode of "Supernatural."
In the episode titled "The Rising Son," promo photos, via TVLine, show Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean's (Jensen Ackles) mother standing close to Lucifer as they face the Genghis Khan-like conqueror in the apocalypse world they are in. It looks like the fallen angel has finally met his match in Michael, who has been teased to possess powers unlike anything ever seen in the show. Although Mary is technically a human, therefore too weak to help him, she is the only one Lucifer has at the moment.
Meanwhile, back in the real world, Sam and Dean are doing their best to protect Jack (Alexander Calvert). They are just starting to explore the kind of power the nephilim has. The brothers will be on guard when Donatello (Keith Szarabajka) informs them that the new king of hell is in town. Asmodeus (guest star Jeffrey Vincent Parise) wants to see Lucifer, but since he is not around, he has set his eyes on the devil's son. Sam and Dean will need all their tricks to defend Jack from this enemy.
Showrunner Andrew Dabb recently talked to Entertainment Weekly about the decision to make the Winchesters as Jack's foster parents. According to him, this will give the viewers a chance to see the characters in a different light. Instead of always seeing the boys fighting supernatural creatures, fans will get to watch them in a domestic setting.
"To have [Sam and Dean] confronted by this kid who is at once scary and charming gives us a chance to show a different side of the guys, and that's always a great thing, especially 13 seasons in. If Dean had a kid, what would that look like? If Sam had a kid, what would that look like? The joke is that it's 'My Two Dads, Hell Edition,'" the EP explained.
"Supernatural" season 13 episode 2 will air on Thursday, Oct. 19 at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
