'Supernatural' Season 13 Spoilers: Familiar Characters Will Return 'in Different Bodies,' EP Teases
"Supernatural" is bringing back some familiar characters for season 13.
Certain characters are returning this season with a twist, according to executive producer Andrew Dabb. The "Supernatural" boss recently caught up with TVLine and he revealed some teasers for the show's upcoming installment, including resurrections that will come in different forms.
"Even if it's not played by an actor that we recognize, there are certain characters that are going to come back in different bodies," Dabb said.
Additionally, Dabb assured fans that they have not seen the last of Castiel (Misha Collins) yet. Fans can recall that season 12 ended with the seraph suffering his fifth death. However, Dabb noted that Castiel will have a bigger role to play this coming season 13.
"Death is not the end for Castiel," the EP continued. "That being said, when we pick up our season he's more dead than people usually get on our show. Castiel has a big role to play for us, but that may not be as soon as some people are hoping."
The CW has released a new trailer for "Supernatural" and it shows the Winchester brothers back in action. It looks like Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) are in for a lot of trouble as they deal with the new sheriff in Hell.
In the 41-second clip, viewers are given a first look at the new creature in charge of Hell. He seems to be the opposite of Crowley (Mark Sheppard), who was a reliable ruler and an unlikely friend for the Winchesters before his demise.
Comic Book Movie points out that a new poster for season 13 has been unveiled as well. Although Castiel does not appear on the trailer, his face can be seen on the new poster alongside Sam and Dean. The phrase "Dawn of Darkness" also appears on the poster, hinting at more enemies for the duo.
The 13th season of "Supernatural" premieres Thursday, Oct. 12, at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
