'Supernatural' Season 13 Spoilers: Has Michael Come to Conquer Earth?
Michael (to be portrayed by Christian Keyes) is back and more powerful than ever in the upcoming season of "Supernatural."
The promo photo released (via Entertainment Weekly) showed the archangel in his full glory as he conversed with two people. According to showrunner Andrew Dabb, this Michael is going to be a tougher version of the original. For one, he has single-handedly conquered the alternate world that was created when Lucifer's (Mark Pellegrino) son was born. Soon, Michael will set his sights on Earth. The two worlds will collide and there will be disastrous results. Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) can only hope that their powers will be enough to keep the angel at bay.
"The Michael of apocalypse world is the victor," Dabb told EW. "He's a very different character than the one we met even in season 5. He's Genghis Khan. He's been through the wars. He's conquered the world."
Meanwhile, Hell has a new leader and it is not the nephilim Jack (Alexander Calvert). A demon dressed in all-white was shown in the promo and claimed that there was a new sheriff in town. It was previously teased that all kinds of bad guys would go after Crowley's (Mark Sheppard) throne. Although many viewers were expecting Lucifer's son to take over, there are more powerful beings out there who will vie for the spot as the new King of Hell. These players will have different agendas. If Sam and Dean got along well with Crowley, they cannot expect the same treatment from his substitute.
As for Jack, though his powers are said to be out of this world, he will not be the only potential villain around in season 13. Speculations are rife that he will actually be a strong ally of the Winchesters as he attempts to avenge his mother's death.
"Supernatural" season 13 is expected to premiere on Oct. 12 at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
