'Supernatural' Season 13 Spoilers: Promo Images Show Dean And Sam Babysitting Lucifer's Son
The Winchester brothers will take on another task in the season premiere of "Supernatural" season 13. This time, they will take on the role of babysitters.
Based on the promo photos for the season premiere, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) will find themselves taking care of Lucifer's newborn son Jack. Instead of a small, bouncing baby boy, the Winchesters will have to deal with a fully-grown person portrayed by "Arrow" alum Alexander Calvert.
In an interview with TVLine, executive producer Andrew Dabb revealed that the offspring of one of the Winchesters' biggest nemesis will be a very different person from his father.
"He's, in a lot of ways, a blank slate," Dabb stated.
This means that he needs the guidance of those around him, particularly Sam and Dead, to determine what is right and wrong. But according to the executive producer, the Winchesters have always been complicated characters and the decisions and compromises that they made in the past were not always morally correct.
"How will he learn from those lessons? How do Sam and Dean want to teach him during those lessons? Do they want to help him around certain mistakes that they had made? All these are questions we're dealing with as...Sam and Dean are, to a large degree, acting as parents in this season, which is a new thing for them and for everyone involved," the executive producer also stated.
The new season of "Supernatural" will also introduce two new characters named Lily (Erica Walter) and Conrad (Ish Morris). The two were also featured in the promo images where Jack and Sam appeared to be inside a prison cell, where they seemed to be restraining Lucifer's son. However, it was not clear why the two new characters are trying to separate him from Sam.
The season premiere of "Supernatural" season 13 is slated to air on The CW on Thursday, Oct. 12, at 8 p.m. EDT.
