'Superstore' Season 3 Spoilers: Dark and Morbid Halloween Episode Coming This Season
"Superstore" is back, promising to be better, and weirder than ever in its third season starting this Thursday, Sep. 28. This Halloween, the retail comedy show turns dark and just a bit twisted for its seasonal episode.
"Superstore" season 3 is about to premiere in a couple of days, and already, the show's production crew had fans looking forward to Halloween. The annual occasion will turn Cloud 9 and its misfit cast of workers gloomy and bleak, and not just the decor, too, as executive producer Justin Spitzer hinted to Entertainment Weekly.
"The Halloween episode is crazy-dark," Spitzer shared, warning fans that this particular episode will not be the typical "Superstore" brand of wit. "It's a very morbid episode. It really hits the blacker elements of Halloween," he added.
He leaves it at that, though, and instead moves on to the best part of the reveal — the Halloween Costumes. "Amy will be Selena," Spitzer said, referring to America Ferrera's character. Dina (Lauren Ash), meanwhile, will reprise her last year's costume as a cop, complete with a revealing, unbuttoned top.
"And Glenn (Mark McKinney) is in another costume that speaks of childlike innocence," Spitzer added, hinting at a hilarious turn for Glenn this season.
At least one star is looking forward to their Halloween costume on the show this year. " I am very, very excited about my costume this year on the show," America Ferrera said, after explaining that the seasonal episode is one of their rare chances to step out of the usual Cloud 9 tie, vest and slacks.
Before all that, however, fans will get to find out if everyone did make it out of last season's explosive finale, which destroyed the entire set of "Superstore." Did Sal (Sean Whalen) make it out? Fans can find out when the show returns in two days.
The video below shows a preview of the third season of "Superstore," as the Cloud 9 reopens its doors to both loyal customers and the show's fans. The new season premieres this Thursday, Sep. 28, at 8 p.m. EDT on NBC.
