'Survivor' Season 34: J.T. Thomas Is Out, a Former Castaway Comes In?

In a game of strategy with some of the best strategists around, one can't afford to make a mistake. One castaway learned this lesson the hard way in the most recent episode of CBS' competitive reality television series, "Survivor: Game Changers."

Now on its 34th season, the Jeff Probst-hosted show has already seen its fair share of great plays and shocking missteps. Even in a season that brought together some of the infamous game changers that have ever tried to outwit, outplay and outlast their way to victory, mistakes can still be expected.

When castaway J.T. Thomas came to tribal council, he was confident somebody else's head was on the chopping block since he had made efforts to make sure of it prior to tribal. But to his utter surprise, he had the biggest target on his back all along and thus became the fifth person voted out of the game. The worst thing about it was that he could've saved himself if he had only brought along his hidden immunity idol.

In an interview with the Entertainment Weekly Morning Live radio show, Thomas said that his past experience in "Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains" has not made him shy away from making risky plays in order to win.

"Obviously it didn't work out like I hoped, but you got to make moves to win and I go to win. I don't go to get second place or even 10th place. And sometimes it works out and sometimes it don't," Thomas said.

Now that five castaways have bid the game farewell, more twists are coming in the next episode of "Survivor: Game Changers." The promo teases that either a merge or a second tribe switch is about to happen as Jeff tells the castaways to drop their buffs. Additionally, Exile Island will once again be coming into play as a former castaway makes a surprising comeback.

The next episode of "Survivor: Game Changers" airs on Wednesday, April 5 at 8 p.m. EDT on CBS.
