'Survivor' Season 35 Spoilers: Is Jeff Probst Hinting About A Female Winner This Season?
CBS just aired the second episode of "Survivor" season 35 this week, but reports claimed that they already know who among this season's castaways can outwit and outlast the others at the end of the reality show's latest installment.
Fans of the long-time reality survival competition were reportedly talking on the Survivor Sucks forum site about how series host Jeff Probst seemed to be dropping hints about the gender of the season 35 winner.
Based on the fans' analysis, there is a big possibility that one of the female contestants will be declared as season 35's ultimate survivor.
"Well Jeff has said nothing about season 35 until like now, so it's obvious that a female won. Who knows? Maybe the fans will like this winner, but Jeff just does not like the winner," one of the fans stated on a post on the forum site.
However, others claimed that Probst was just bluffing about the clues for this season's winner since the last person standing will be a male contestant.
Meanwhile, fans of the reality series noticed that the second episode of "Survivor Season 35: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers" introduced the power couples that were formed when the series was filming in Fiji's Mamanuca Islands.
Probst explained in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that the concept of power couples in the island is not exactly a new thing, but it has already evolved over the years since the show was introduced in 1997.
"My reaction to what you're picking up on is the more layered and often more aggressive nature of how Survivor is being played today," the series host stated. "For example, Alan (Ball) is using the notion of a 'power couple' as an offensive weapon by labeling two people — Ashley (Nolan) and JP (Hilsabeck) — in the hopes that he either gets information from them or puts a target on their back. It's an interesting move."
However, he also mentioned that there might be a threat in the romantic relationships that are forming within the show. "Survivor can be extremely lonely, and to have someone special to lean on is a powerful advantage, and can cause even more resentment," the host also said.
CBS will air the next episode of "Survivor Season 35: Heroes v. Healers v. Hustlers" on Wednesday, Oct. 11, at 8 p.m. EDT.
