Susan Sarandon Assault; 'Disgusting' Caster Wanted Sex for Acting Role
Susan Sarandon has admitted assault in a recent interview, revealing that she was the victim of a "casting-couch" during her early years as an actress.
Sarandon won the Academy Award for Best actress in the 1995 film "Dead Man Walking." Since, she has played in films that include "Thelma & Loise" and, more recently, "Enchanted."
But during a recent interview, the actress opened up about a not-so-enchanting experience. That actress revealed that during her first move to New York, while she was still early on in her career, she was prompted to exchange sexual favors for an acting role.
"I just went into a room, and a guy practically threw me on the desk. It was my early days in New York, and it was really disgusting," the actress was quoted by Radar Online. The site was referencing an Elle interview which is due out in the November issue.
But, according to Sarandon, the guy never had a chance.
"It wasn't like I gave it a second thought, it was so badly done," she added.
Sarandon, whose maiden name is Tomalin, married at the young age of 21, taking on the name of her husband Chris Sarandon. The couple split in 1978 and became officially divorced in 1979, prompting Sarandon to "no longer believe in marriage," according to a 2010 interview in Cosmopolitan magazine.
But that did not stop Sarandon from dating. As of late, the 66 year-old actress has been criticized for her relationship with the much younger ping-pong entrepreneur Jonathan Bricklin, 35.
In Sarnadon's point of view, however, the age difference is an exaggeration.
"People make him out to be much younger than he is- and me older," Sarandon claimed in the interview.
