'Switched at Birth' News, Spoilers: Vanessa Marano Teases A "Heartbroken, But Not Disappointed" Bay in Season 4B
The Season 4B premiere of ABC Family's hit teen drama TV series "Switched at Birth" is finally getting closer but fans are still hankering for more details on what's to come when the show returns to the small screen. Here's what we heard:
In an interview with Zap2it.com, cast member Vanessa Marano said that followers of the series will find her character, Bay, right in the bottom of her emotional state following her breakup with Emmet (Sean Berdy).
She told the publication that the breakup "was really rough" and that it was "unfair and she's upset about it."
"She's a freaking mess. The Bay and Emmett fans are going to be heartbroken, but not disappointed," she said (via Zap2it).
The actress further revealed that Bay will be found mourning the broken relationship before she realized what could make her happy again.
"She's a mess [for a while]. Finally she's like, 'I'm going to take back my life and do things for me,'" the 22-year-old star went on to explain (via Zap2it). "That's what this season is about for Bay — taking back her own life."
Despite these realizations, it still won't be a smooth sailing transition for Bay. There are still issues, like that of the breakup with Emmett as well as the sexual assault, which will continue to plague her senses for a long time.
"…none of that stuff is going away just because she's like 'OK, I'm going to get through this,'" Marano said (via Zap2it). "That is stuff she will always have to deal with and hopefully be a stronger person in spite of it."
Other than that, the spoiler report for the Season 4B premiere said that she will feel the discomfort of getting scrutinized by her schoolmates. This comes to pass when the new harassment policy was established at school and the whole student body now knows about the unpleasant incident with Tank (Max Adler).
Find out more of these developments when "Switched at Birth" Season 4B airs Monday, August 24, at 8 p.m. on ABC Family.
