'Switched at Birth' season 4 update: Toby is going to be a father, Bay copes up with breakup

If there's one TV series that never runs out of hullabaloo, it's got to be "Switched at Birth," or at least fans think so. The American teen/family drama series that premiered first in June 2011 has gone a long way already with their storyline. In fact, when "Switched at Birth" returns on Monday, Aug. 31 for the second half of season four, Toby (Lucas Grabeel) is going to face the challenge of becoming a father.

According to Zap2it, Toby learned that his ex-girlfriend Lily (Rachel Shenton) is pregnant and he's certainly not happy about it. The two didn't really share an amicable breakup and being just an amateur DJ, it's obvious that Toby can't pay the bills. And if that's not enough, Lily found out that the baby she is carrying has Down syndrome. It looks like it's going to be a big financial problem to deal with especially since he also can't ask help from his parents who also have their own financial difficulties. Toby is going to need some support if he wants to get through this and by support, it means his sisters Daphne (Katie Leclerc) and Bay (Vanessa Marano)

Meanwhile, Bay has her own set of problems. She's suffering the after-effects of her breakup with Emmet (Sean Berdy) and it's not going so well. When asked about what Bay's heartache is going to look like for her, Creator and showrunner Lizzy Weiss told The Hollywood Reporter,"She's not doing well. She's spending a lot of time in bed with the curtains closed and she's obsessing, and I think girls do that a lot."

And it seems like things aren't even going to get better in episode 12 entitled "How Does a Girl Like You Get To Be a Girl Like You?" as its promo showed Bay getting some unwanted attention after she got drunk and slept with her ex-boyfriend Tank (Max Adler).

To find out more on what's going to happen in the next episode, fans will have to wait and see. "Switched at Birth" airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC Family.
