'Syndrome' Promises To Revive Good Ole 'Survival Horror' Games
When "Syndrome" was announced in September 2015, it was described by developer Camel 101 as a space survival horror video game that is set in a spaceship that is aimlessly drifting in space. The player gets to control the lone survivor in the spaceship, a character that has just awakened from a deep cryosleep. The game has released a new trailer, showing just how scary it can be to be trapped in a spaceship with dead crew members and something else that is deadly.
The trailer has a character named Captain Marius speaking about the crew's important mission, how capable its crew is, how the ship is the most advanced of its kind and how it is aided by the best worker droids. His speech however is set against gameplay video clips that show dark spaceship corridors with dangers lurking in the shadows, as well as clips of what looked like dead crew members.
This trailer confirms that the game is a first-person survival horror game, with the player controlling the ship's lone surviving crew member. According to a report in Tech Times, the player will have access to limited ammunition and other supplies that are needed to survive. These limited resources need to be used judiciously as the player does not know what is out there and what kind of creatures he needs to defend himself against. The game's main mission is to find out what happened to the ship while at the same time trying to stay alive.

According to a press release about the game, the player can opt to hide in the shadows to determine when to "strike or sneak away," as survival is of utmost importance. Players must gauge whether its better to attack or to hide and wait for the enemies to move away.
The game will be released on the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One and PC in summer 2016. VR support via the Oculus Rift will also be available with the game.
