Tad Cummins Update: Search Continues, Surveillance Video Determined Not to Have Shown Former Teacher

The authorities are still looking for former teacher Tad Cummins and the search has become more difficult as another possible lead has turned out to be a false alarm.
The lead in question was a video that seemed to show Cummins at a gas station in Collierville, Tennessee.
Not long after the video began to draw attention, Josh DeVine, a spokesman for the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation then announced that it was a false alarm upon further examination, NBC News reported.

Authorities are after Cummins as it is believed that he is involved in the kidnapping of Culleoka Unit School student Elizabeth Thomas.
As the search intensifies further for both Cummins and Thomas, there are now more calls for the former teacher to end this chase, including one coming from his wife Jill.
During an interview with NBC News, Jill Cummins addressed her husband, saying that he knows that he cannot stay in hiding forever. She also called on him to finally turn himself and Thomas in to the authorities or to ensure the safety of Thomas by taking her to a safe location and leaving her there for people to find.
In related news, while an Amber Alert has been issued for many of the states located situated near Tennessee, the authorities have yet to issue the same advisory for Mexico and Central America, according to a recent report from the Daily Mail.
According to the TBI, particular details hinting at the possibility that Cummins and Thomas may have made their way through the border are not available at this point, hence the Amber Alert not being issued.
Still, details relevant to the case have been shared as well with officials in Mexico and Central America to further help with the search.
