Code Black CBS Cast News: 'Taken' Actress Maggie Grace Gets Lead Role in CBS Medical Drama

"Taken" actress Maggie Grace is due to star in the pilot episode of a CBS medical drama, "Code Black."

American actress, Maggie Grace, known for her film roles in "Taken" and "The Twilight Saga," will be appearing in a major role for medical drama series, "Code Black" on CBS.

The series will be based on physician, Ryan McGarry's festival award-winning documentary that offers a closer look into the world of emergency medicine. To be set in the busiest ER in the U.S. – the L.A. County Hospital -- "Code Black" follows the lives of the resident doctors and the medical staff who do the best they could to protect their patients while dealing with a dysfunctional hospital system.

Grace will be portraying female lead, Leanne, the hospital's ER residency director who Deadline.com describes as "a force of nature and a force to be reckoned with." She will be joining co-stars, "Fifty Shades of Grey" actress, Marcia Gay Harden, in the role of a doctor haunted by the past death of a child, and "NCIS: Los Angeles'" Melanie Kannakoda, who plays a newly-arrived and ambitious resident at the L.A County Hospital's ER.

"Code Black" will be scripted by Michael Sietzman, and will be executive produced by ABC and CBS Television Studios, with documentary author, Ryan McGarry co-producing.

Grace, who is a veteran of several television series, including "Lost," "Californication," and the online series, "Susanna," is also known for her portrayal of Liam Neeson and Famke Janssen's daughter, Kim Mills in the "Taken" series. She has also appeared as the vampire Irina in "The Twilight Saga," and will be playing a supporting role as Stephanie Parker in the Nicholas Sparks' 2016 romantic drama, "The Choice."
