Tampa Bay Rays vs New York Yankees: Live Stream, Preview: AL - East Rivals clash
New York are trying to chase the Toronto Blue Jays atop the standings.
American League – East rivals meet at the Tropicana Field as the New York Yankees travel to face the Tampa Bay Rays as Major League Baseball continues.
The match is on September 14, 2015 at 7:10 PM ET.
This is the first of three matches in the series between the two teams, with the result weighing heavily especially for the Yankees.
As it stands, the Yankees are second in the division with a 78-64 record, while the Rays are third with a 69-73 record.
New York are trying to chase the Toronto Blue Jays and are only 3.5 matches behind. On the other hand, Tampa Bay are 9 games behind the Yankees and sweeping this series brings the lead down to six games.
The Yankees have struggled lately and are only 4-6 in their last 10 matches. Even worse is that their last series was against the Blue Jays where they lost 3-1 in their four-game meeting.
They were able to save grace with a 5-0 win in the last game of the series and are hoping that they can use that to get victories against Tampa Bay.
On the other hand, things are far worse for the Rays. They are 3-7 in the 10-game stretch and are currently in a two-game losing streak.
They last faced the Boston Red Sox and despite winning the first of their three-game series, they lost consecutive games to continue their struggles.
The two teams only met a week ago, with the Yankees winning the series 2-1 at home after starting off with a 5-2 win and taking the last match 6-4. Tampa Bay won the second game 3-2.
This is their final meeting of the regular season so expect both teams to try and get big wins over their division rivals.
