Taylor Swift News: Singer Plays Basketball With the NY Knicks, Says She's Doesn't Want to Date

Taylor Swift took some time off her busy schedule to spend some quality time with the New York Knicks. The singer played with basketball stars Amar'e Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony while wearing a Knicks no. 13 jersey.

Swift took to Twitter on Wednesday to post a video of her on the court. She captioned the post, "This week @Amareisreal helped me make my first and probably last layup."

Stoudemire also shared a picture on Twitter of the "Shake it Off" singer as she posed with him and Anthony. He wrote, "Representing NY. We're all #NYMade. @taylorswift13 @carmeloanthony @nyknicks."

In the video, the singer appeared to be happy and carefree as she played with the basketball superstars. Indeed, everything seems to be right in Swift's world as she has just released another hit album, and she has a lot of friends supporting her in everything that she does. As for dating, the singer seems to have given up on it for the meantime despite some encouragement from her friends.

"People will say, let me set you up with someone, and I'm just sitting there saying, 'That's not what I'm doing. I'm not lonely, I'm not looking,' yet they just don't get it," the 24-year old told Cosmopolitan magazine. "I've learned that just because someone is cute and wants to date you, that's not a reason to sacrifice your independence and allow everyone to say whatever they want about you. I'm not doing that anymore."

Another reason why the Grammy winner may not be so keen on dating these days is due to the different ways that men and women are treated when they go out with multiple people.

"My girlfriends and I talk a lot about feminism and the inequality between the way men and women are talked about," said Swift. "The kind of things we say are, 'Why is it mischievous, fun and sexy if a guy has a string of lovers that he's cast aside, loved and left? Yet if a woman dates three or four in an eight-year period she is a serial dater and it gives some 12-year-old the idea to call her a [expletive] on the internet?"

"It's not the same for boys, it just isn't, and that's a fact," she said.
