Taylor Swift 'Reputation' Release Date, Latest News: Singer Releases New Track 'Gorgeous' Ahead of Upcoming Album's Nov. 10 Release

Taylor Swift's new album, called "Reputation," has just been confirmed to launch early next month on Nov. 10. The singer is not content to let fans sit waiting, though, as she launches "Gorgeous," a brand new track from her upcoming album, last Thursday, Oct. 19.

Swift took to Instagram, her preferred mode of sending out updates nowadays, to announce the release of her new single. In a series of posts that went up at 12 p.m. EDT on Thursday, the singer shared with fans the news in fields of magenta pink, as Billboard recaps.

One of the messages was just a video, set in the same magenta pink as the rest, with a baby-sounding voice just saying the word "gorgeous" as the word pops up in an ornate, gothic typeface on the screen.

The new track looks to be the second official single from her upcoming album "Reputation," as Forbes notes. It features a retro beat reminiscent of an early Apple computer, fitting as the whole track sounds like Swift stepping back into comfortable territory.

The single sees Swift take a step back from the exploration of her last album and a return to the pop hits, mostly about boys, that have catapulted her to stardom in the first place. Music critics everywhere might expect to find little that will excite them about "Gorgeous," or "Reputation" as a whole, but that might not be the point of the new album this time around.

The new track is the third one that has come out of her new compilation, after the launch of "Look What You Made Me Do" earlier this August. That track alone already set the tone for the anticipation of her new album, as the follow-up single "Look" rocketed up to the top spot on the Hot 100 in just a couple of weeks.

Swift immediately follows up with a promo single, "...Ready For It?" as she starts a roll of new singles ahead of her new album's release. More news and tracks are expected to ramp up ahead of "Reputation's" launch this Nov. 10.
