Taylor Swift's Fans Try To Decipher Lyrics of 'Gorgeous': Is It About Tom Hiddleston Or Joe Alwyn?

Taylor Swift's new love song "Gorgeous" sparked another debate online.

After releasing her new single on Friday, Oct. 20, Swift's fans reportedly expressed their divided speculations about the subject of the song based on its very revealing lyrics.

Based on the line "You should take it as a compliment/ That I got drunk and made fun of the way you talk," the singer could be referring to a guy with a foreign accent. This theory was made solid after the line "Whisky on ice, sunset and vine" where the word "whisky" was spelled without an "e," just like what the British people do. This could mean that she was talking about some of the British men that she used to date like Harry Styles and Tom Hiddleston. Or it could be her current beau, Joe Alwyn.

But Styles' name had been dropped in the option after Swift sang the line "Ocean blue eyes, looking in mine." Styles is known for his green eyes, while both Hiddleston and Alwyn possess a pair of blue eyes.

The song's link to Hiddleston could be credited to the lines where the 27-year-old singer described a man with "statuesque handsomeness." She also talked about having a boyfriend during the time that she met her new man.

In the line "And I got a boyfriend, he's older than us / He's in the club doing I don't know what," she could be referring to her other ex-boyfriend DJ Calvin Harris, who she was seeing before she was rumored to start a new relationship with the 36-year-old "Thor" star.

But since Hiddleston is a year older than Harris, other fans claimed that she could be talking about Alwyn, who is only 26-years-old. But the British actor was already featured in the song "Ready For It," which could also mean that Swift would want to talk about her new man on her upcoming album.

Swift's camp has yet to confirm the identity of the guy that he was talking to in the song. But her new album "Reputation" is about to be released on Friday, Nov. 10.
