'Teen Titans Go!' Movie Release Date News: Animated Feature Coming in July 2018

Cartoon Network's "Teen Titans" is finally getting a movie, as "Teen Titans Go!" will now be a full-length feature. The rowdy crew of young superheroes will be lighting up the big screen on July 27, 2018.

Robin, Beast Boy, Starfire, Cyborg and Raven are set to embark on a grander adventure as a "Teen Titans Go!" movie has been confirmed on Twitter by no less than Greg Cipes, who voices the shape-shifting Beast Boy in Cartoon Network's wacky take on the DC Comics ensemble.

"I'm Dreaming awake!," Cipes, self-described entertainer and mother earth lover, said in his caption for the image showing the entire team. "Our Teen Titans Go! feature film is headed to the big screen July 27, 2018!" he added, before giving shout-outs to the Cartoon Network and Warner Bros. Television.

"Teen Titans Go!" on Cartoon Network has been one of the most popular shows on the platform, with over 200 episodes of zany misadventures of the young team that has become popular with the upcoming generation of superhero fans, as Den of Geek noted.

The popular animated feature has bucked the trend of superhero adaptations in TV and movies today, setting it apart from all other superhero shows that have focused on becoming darker and grittier, as Screen Rant noted.

While the half-hour episode format on Cartoon Network supports the disjointed stories of "Teen Titans Go!" that always leaves the characters unchanged even after all these years, fans are wondering if that approach could work for an entire movie.

Next year looks to be filled with more shows based on Teen Titans, starting from the new "Titans" live-action adaptation that will be coming to DC's new streaming service. The team also gets to show up for the third season of "Young Justice," which is set to be released on the same platform.

Details on the upcoming movie are still under wraps, and more information is expected to come in the coming months as production begins.
