'Teen Wolf' Season 5 Cast News: Crystal Reed To Return As Argent Ancestor

Crystal Reed, who was last seen in the MTV series "Teen Wolf" as Allison Argent, werewolf Scott McCall's (Tyler Posey) first love interest who just so happened to come from a family of werewolf hunters, is returning to the show.

Reed starred in the hit supernatural drama from its premiere until Season 3, when she was stabbed by an Oni and died in Scott's arms. At the time, Reed had decided to leave the show, telling Entertainment Weekly, "I felt like, creatively, there were things I wanted to do differently, and I wanted to explore other avenues of film and TV."

Now, Reed is returning to "Teen Wolf" for Season 5B and will appear in the Feb. 23 episode, titled "The Maid of Gévaudan." Unfortunately, fans of the relationship between Scott and his first love Allison may be disappointed to learn that the charming schoolgirl will not be reincarnating and rejoining the werewolf; rather, Reed will appear on the show as Marie-Jeanne Valet, an ancestor of the Argents, BuzzFeed reports.

The episode featuring Valet is set in 18th-century France and will offer some history and context to the story of The Beast, a supernatural creature that reappears in Beacon Hills after Marie-Jeanne, The Maid of Gévaudan, defeated it in 1765. The story of The Beast and The Maid will be recounted for Scott and his pack by Gerard Argent (Michael Hogan), Allison's grandfather.

Reed, who was admittedly reluctant to rejoin "Teen Wolf," told BuzzFeed, "Allison had such an amazing end to her life, I feel like bringing her back in any way might tarnish that beautiful story." But when she was invited to reappear in Season 5B and informed about her character's storyline, she jumped right in. "Basically, Jeff [Davis, "Teen Wolf" executive producer] just said, 'France in the 1700s,' and I was in," she revealed.

The fifth season of "Teen Wolf" airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on MTV.
