'Teen Wolf' season 6 news: Show could continue after season 6
The second half of the current season has not yet even began and yet the show has already been renewed for another season. The upcoming season may not be the last as the series could very well continue all the way up to season 9.
The second half of the current season will end in a climactic battle that will definitely set the stage for an exhilarating season 6. The second half of the season will be about resurrection and rebuilding. Creator Jeff Davis spoke about Scott's character making a significant change. "It's the classic hero's journey — the midseason finale is the death and resurrection. Now that he's basically resurrected, he's going to carry a loss of innocence with him, and he's got to do what his mother says, which is to give them hope. You got to get them back. And so the first part of season 5B will be him trying to draw back his friends into a pack once again in order to both get Lydia out of Eichen House and also stop what's going to potentially kill all the people they love," he said.
Davis added that if the show goes beyond this next season, he would like to see Dylan Sprayberry take over the role of Teen Wolf and see Tyler Posey move into a more Derek Hale role. He also commented that whenever someone brings up season 6, another person will always say that they do not want to think about that right now.
Furthermore, Davis also said that he was surprised that the show was renewed for a sixth season because he thought that season 5 was the last one. "We're still debating that because, I have to be honest, I thought season 5 was it. I thought we were ending. I have no idea what's going to happen with Season 6," he said. He added that if the show went beyond this upcoming season that he would love to pass the torch to someone else. He did say that the characters will not yet have graduated by the end of the current season.
There is no word on when the current season will continue. Season 6 is most likely to premiere late next year.
