'Teen Wolf' Season 6 News: Showrunner Talks About Creating an Open-Ended Finale

Executive producer Jeff Davis shared what he wanted to achieve for the 100th and final episode of the "Teen Wolf" series. Meanwhile, there's a possibility that the story of "Teen Wolf" continues in another platform.

"Teen Wolf" season 6 ended the entire series with Scott (Tyler Posey) and his pack, with the addition of their newest member, Alec (Ben Wadsworth), winning the war and moving forward into a new chapter of their lives where people were no longer afraid of their kind.

Davis talked about why he chose an open-ended finale for the MTV series.

"I thought about what kind of series finale fits this show best, and to me, it was, 'And the adventure continues ...' That's what we wanted to go for. I want to know that Scott and his friends have many more stories to tell. This story isn't over," Davis revealed to The Hollywood Reporter.

Davis said that he wanted his viewers to be thrilled in the finale by looking forward to what could possibly happen next to the characters, likening it to how "The Sopranos" or "Lost" ended their stories.

But having an open-ended finale isn't the reason why no one from the show's characters died. According to Davis, it's because he didn't want any of them to meet their ends.

"I didn't want to see all my favorite characters die," Davis revealed to E! News.

With all the main characters of "Teen Wolf" still alive, Davis talked about how there are limitless opportunities for a spin-off. But the showrunner is most interested in doing the possible spin-off series in a podcast form.

Davis said that Jackson (Colton Haynes) and Ethan (Charlie Carver) would be good to have in an eight-episode podcast about their adventures in London. He also said that Tyler Hoechlin's Derek would be interesting to follow in a podcast, as well as Daniel Sharman's Isaac.

"Podcasts are amazing these days. ... It's basically radio drama coming back to life," said Davis.
