The female characters featured in the upcoming film will be Megan Fox as April O'Neil and Laura Linney, as the head of NYPD. They will be making their debut in the upcoming film.

Fans were able to take a closer look into the newly featured Turtle Van from the recently released trailer. It was reported that the vehicle will be helping the Turtles take down the criminals. According to Yahoo Movies, the story will put more focus on the characters and their rapport.

One of the film's producers, Andrew Form, stated, "We've embraced a bit of everything. [Co-creator] Kevin Eastman is doing new comics for IDW, so we're peeling pieces from that; definitely stuff from the original Mirage comics; the cartoon, too, with some Krang and Bebop and Rocksteady and the Technodrome coming from that. It's been fun to wrap our arms around the entire canon. And Eastman and Laird have been cool with saying, 'Make this your own, make it a new chapter.'"

Produced by Michael Bay, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2" is expected to hit theaters by 2016.
