Meet Chauncy Black. He's a 16-year-old straight-A student from Memphis who came across a man named Matt White inside the Highland Kroger. He offered White to carry his groceries in exchange for buying him a donut.
White didn't get him a donut. Instead, he bought him an entire cart of groceries. Also, White put up the campaign Chauncy's Chance on the GoFundMe, hoping to collect around $230,000 for Black.

"Chauncy lives in Memphis with his disabled mother. He wants to work and help his mother financially. He wants to become a successful business owner and offer jobs and opportunities to others in his community. What so many can take for granted, he wants. He wants food, he wants a bed, he wants to work and he wants a chance," White noted.
The campaign was put up on 13 June and in less than two weeks, it has garnered more than $200,000 in donations.
"This is so remarkable, I am very excited for Chauncy's future. I'm sure he will be a bright and successful man growing up! I just can't get over just how kind and great this is." Judi Vyas, one of the donors, said on a note.
Putting the Money to for Chauncy's Future
White has also been willing to help Black put the money to good use. He says the funds will be placed in a trust. "They'll guide them and give them professional advice on what to do with their money, depending on their needs," he said.
"Something told me to go to Kroger. God told me to go to Kroger," Black said.
Black is set to meet lawyers and financial advisers to help him and his family use the funds for the teenager's education as well as the needs of his family. The teen is now aiming to buy a home for his mother and setting up a lawn mowing business in addition to studying.
