'Tekken 7' News: Arcade Exclusive Game Heading For PS4 And Xbox One, Will Get PlayStation Virtual Reality Support
Fans of the arcade fighting game, "Tekken" were excited to hear that Bandai Namco is finally bringing "Tekken 7" to home gaming systems after all these years. The announcement was made by the game developer/publisher during the recently concluded Paris Games Week. The arcade exclusive will soon be available for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One, according to a report in GameZone.
According to the press release for the said announcement, this newest installment in the Tekken franchise is part of the franchise's celebration of its 20th year. It described the upcoming game as something that "returns to its gameplay roots with classic 1 vs. 1 bouts." It also features a storyline that takes a closer look at the Mishima clan and the never-ending battle for power among its members. The game, however, is said to provide some conclusion to this clan's saga.
There is a newcomer joining the fight in the character of Kazumi Mishima and the game will feature battles between father and son and even husband and wife. The game is said to feature 27 playable characters, 20 of which will come with the game's release, while the rest will be added on later.
In the press release, Vice President for Marketing at Bandai Namco America Eric Hartness said, "TEKKEN 7 promises to deliver an uncompromising fighting game experience that will deliver groundbreaking graphics, animation, and tournament style gameplay. Fighting game tournament players should be on notice as we're setting our sights on lighting up the tournament scene with the hardest hitting TEKKEN game ever."
While porting the game to the PS 4 and the Xbox One will bring more enhancements and features compared to the arcade version, the more exciting news about the game is that it is also in development for PlayStation Virtual Reality, which means it can be played using virtual reality gaming headsets. This was reported in VRFocus.
