'Tekken 7' Release Date & Update: Game Heading to PlayStation VR, New Game Modes Added
Those who are looking forward to playing the seventh installment of the "Tekken" series will certainly find it worth it to wait for it. According to Yibada, "Tekken 7" will be bringing along new game modes for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. It will also have new story details for the two consoles. Meanwhile, there is also news that there will be a PC version for the crossover game titled "Tekken X Street Fighter."
The announcement was made by Katsuhiro Harada, the game director of Bandai Namco. Realty Today detailed that he announced it during the Paris Games Week event wherein he also mentioned that the console version will contain the most complete versions along with enhancements.
He also mentioned that they will include new content that are not found in the original arcade version. At the moment, the game is available only in Japan arcades but it won't be long until the game will be released in selected places in North America.
According to Christian Today, not a lot of details have been revealed about "Tekken 7's" system, design and gameplay. But recent reports did say that the game is being created with the use of the Unreal Engine 4 which is known for producing a high standard of graphic quality. This also confirms that the upcoming "Tekken 7" will be heading to PlayStation VR along with other announced games such as "Gran Turismo Sport" and "Until Dawn."
Gematsu also noted that Bandai Namco also announced that the newest chapter of the series will be returning to its gameplay roots. It will bring back the classic 1 vs 1 bouts and will center on the story of the Mishima clan featuring newcomer Kazumi Mishimi. Fans can expect to see an "epic battle between father and son," as well as a match between husband and wife. "Tekken 7" is also expected to feature guest characters and returning fighters like Eliza, Kunimitsu Angel and Jun Kazama.
There's no exact date yet when the game will be released but it is expected to come around 2016.
