Tennessee Gun Shop Announces Exclusive Discount for Christians

A gun shop in Tennessee is giving exclusive discount to its Christian buyers, a move sparked by the recent Oregon mass shooting that targeted Christians.

Frontier Firearms has announced that it is slashing off five percent from the purchase price for those who will declare that they are a Christian before buying firearms. Shop owner Brant Williams' offer comes in the wake of the recent mass shooting in Oregon, according to Christian Today (CT).

"If Christians are going to be targeted, we need to protect ourselves," CT quotes Williams' explanation. "The best way to protect yourself is with the best weapon available, and that happens to be a handgun."

Availing of the discount is simple. Customers just need to declare "I am a Christian" before their transaction transpires.

During the mass shooting at Umqua Community College, gunman Christopher Harmer Mercer reportedly asked his victims if they were Christians. He promptly shot those who said "yes" to his question. The shooting rampage left 13 individuals dead and 20 others injured, Raw Story reports.

For Williams and Frontier Firearms vice president Eric Parish, the Oregon mass shooting clearly targeted Christians. In an interview with the Daily Beast, Parish asked how the president would have reacted if the shooter had targeted Muslims during the shooting.

At first, Frontier Firearms intended the discount to apply to Christians alone, but now the shop is opening the offer to others who will declare their religion before purchasing a handgun. Parish explained that the move is all about promoting religious freedom because they want all Americans to be able to openly declare their religion without fear of being persecuted or shot in the head, the report relays.

Williams and Parish are not the only ones pushing for the protection of Christians. In the wake of the Oregon shooting, Tennessee Republican Lieutenant Governor Ron Ramsey also said Christians need to arm themselves against "aggressive secularism."
