Teresa Giudice Subject to Rumors of Federal Home Raid
Teresa Giudice's home was not recently raided by federal agents despite recent reports.
Giudice, the 42-year-old star of "Real Housewives of New Jersey," was the subject of reports from websites like Radar Online that claimed her home was raided.
"Plasma televisions, expensive jewelry, cash, and even the kids' Christmas presents were taken. Teresa was home and was absolutely stunned by the raid," Radar quoted sources as saying. "She had no clue they were coming. She was absolutely hysterical, and begging them not to take the girls' Christmas presents."
However, Matt Reilly, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office in the District of New Jersey, denied the claims.
"We didn't undertake any action like that," Reilly told the Huffington Post. "There seems to be a lot of specific detail in [the articles]. If there was going to be something like that, our office would be involved. It just didn't happen."
Giudice's representative also denied the claims.
"There is no truth to this rumor. It is 100 percent fabricated," the reality television star's reps told The Daily Mail.
Teresa and Joe Giudice of Bravo TV's "Real Housewives of New Jersey" were sentenced to 15 months and 41 months, respectively, in prison for bank and bankruptcy fraud. Teresa will begin her prison sentence on Monday, Jan. 5.
Earlier this year, Teresa took to her Bravo TV blog to begin the sixth season of her show by letting fans know she believes God will help her through her family's tough times.
"I'm so blessed for the amount of love and support I've been given by everyone around me, including all of you. It means the world to me. Thank you so-so-SO much," the Catholic reality television star wrote. "It has been a difficult year for my family, and we still have difficult things ahead. It is a lot of stress and that stress has taken a toll on me and my family, but we will get through it with love and with God's help."
