Tesla Model 3 Release Date, Latest Update: Another Prototype Recently Spotted in a New Test Drive Video

Automobile enthusiasts recently spotted the recent prototype for the Tesla Model 3 in a new teaser video.

The video was posted via the Unplugged Performance YouTube channel, sharing that the vehicle was seen for a road test drive. Unplugged Performance captioned the video: "Our office neighbors are the best! They were testing a Tesla Model 3 prototype, cruising up and down the street outside our office. To most, this might have just looked like another car, but we knew how special of a moment it was! Thankfully we were there to capture it for our fellow Tesla fanatics."

Unplugged Performance also reiterated that the test drive occurred at the SpaceX Hyperloop test track in Hawthorne, California as can also be seen in the video.

This is not the first preview of a Tesla Model 3 prototype. However, the video, by far, has the best quality among the bunch and provides a better look at the upcoming vehicle.

Electrek, on the other hand, pointed out that the prototype seen in the recently posted video is the same kind from a March 2016 teaser. The same report mentions that the high resolution video provides a clear view that nothing much has visually changed with the prototypes.

Last month, Tesla confirmed through a shareholders letter (as reported by Forbes) that they have started the production of Model 3 prototypes. The building of the prototypes, according to Tesla, is part of their plans to continuously test Model 3's design and manufacturing processes.

The company reportedly added that in terms of initial crash test results, the Model 3 prototypes are doing a good a job. Tesla has also shared in the same letter that "all Model 3-related sourcing is on plan to support the start of production in July."

Tesla also told their shareholders that the company's Model 3 plans are "on track to...steadily ramp production to exceed 5,000 vehicles per week at some point in the fourth quarter and 10,000 vehicles per week at some point in 2018."
