'The 100' Season 5 Spoilers: Not All Survivors in Season 4 to Return
Not all the characters who survived in the last season of "The 100" will make it to the next season.
Although "The 100" season 5 is not expected to arrive earlier than 2018, it is already certain that the apocalyptic series will not bring back all of its characters who survived the events in its previous season.
According to showrunner Jason Rothenberg, as the series is featuring a six-year time jump, and many events will transpire within the said period, it is but inevitable for the series to lose some of its characters.

"I don't want to tell you who, or if, but six years is a long time. They were only on the ground for 10 months... and a lot of people died while we were on the ground, and certainly, they're not out of harm's way. Some of them," Rothenberg said in an interview.
Reports claim that while those who survived the events in the previous season went up to space, it is no guarantee that they are safe from death there. After all, within the six years of staying up there, it does not mean that they cannot get sick and eventually die.
While Rothenberg, understandably, did not reveal who will return and perished within the six-year time jump, it is said that Clarke Griffin (Eliza Taylor) and her Nightblood child, Madi (Lola Flanery), are two of the characters who are certain to return.
It has also been learned that the upcoming season 5 of "The 100" will reveal that the rocket will remain in space after six years. While there is no official explanation for it as of this writing, it is suspected that it may have encountered some mechanical problems, and fixing it may place the lives of those inside it in jeopardy.
Meanwhile, the series has recently announced that Spanish actor William Miller is playing the role of Robert McCreary, its big bad for the upcoming season. Based on the official description of the character, Robert McCreary is a "former enforcer from a powerful crime syndicate, his ruthless, violent methods make him a formidable antagonist to our heroes."
"100" season 5 premieres in TV's midseason next year.
