'The Affair' Episode 5 Spoilers: Alison Is Furious With Noah, Meets His Wife Helen

In the fifth episode of "the Affair" simply titled "5," Alison is furious that Noah has put in parts of their sex life in the new novel that he has written. When Alison goes to confront Noah, she meets Helen.

After the bliss of their engagement, Alison is not in a good place. She has had many issues to deal with. The upcoming episode deals with Alison's actions and thoughts. During the previous episodes, Alison had lots of doubts and knows in her heart that she is doing the wrong thing. But she gives in when Noah gives her a ring and proposes to her. She is, however, disturbed when Noah's daughter makes an unexpected entry into their Hudson Valley cottage and sees her wearing the ring.

Then in episode 4, Noah and three of his children had to stay in a motel as Helen is in jail. Alison is upset with this turn of events as Noah cannot be with her.

The official synopsis from TV Guide, titled "5" states: "Alison is thrown by an unpleasant shift in behaviour from her Hudson Valley hosts and furious with Noah after a chance discovery about his new book."

In the promo of the fifth episode, Alison goes through Noah's manuscript for his book titled "Descent." When she realizes that the book is about their affair and contains explicit material that Noah has written about their sex life, she becomes hurt and angry. A furious Alison goes to confront Noah and reaches his house where she meets Helen at the door. Helen passes a sarcastic remark about the fact that Alison has the guts to show up at her place and ask for Noah.

It had been hinted previously that Noah's book becomes a bestseller. Will Noah and Alison's love be destroyed by the success of the book?

Another promo of the episode shows Cole meeting with his brother, Scotty Lockhart. When Cole goes to meet Scotty, he sees Luisa there. Another complication here as Luisa is Cole's love interest but Luisa seems to have something going on with Scotty as well.

The fifth episode of "The Affair" airs this Sunday at 9 p.m. EDT on Showtime.
