'The Amazing Race' season 27 spoilers; cast revealed

The last season of "The Amazing Race" was, by far, the most interesting one to date since for the first time the contestants were all dating couples. There were six existing couples and five blind date couples. The race was won by team SoCal, Laura and Tyler, a blind date couple.

The new season has already started filming, and it seems that the show has taken the dating aspect out again since the cast is very diverse and there are some unique pairs. The show is going back to its original format.

The teams for the upcoming race are: Ernest Phillips and Jin Lao, brothers from Boston; a mother and her son from Prattville, Alabama named Denise Williams and James Earl Corley; a newlywed couple named Cindy and Rick Chac from San Diego, California; cousins from Chicago and Des Moines, Iowa named Alex Manard and Adam Dingeman; an engaged couple from Philadelphia named Justin Scheman and Diana Bishop; a pair of athletes from Los Angeles named Jazmine Lewis and Danielle Littleton; best friends named Tanner Kloven and Josh Ahern from Dallas; Kelly Berning and Shevonne Sullivan, TMZ editor and post production supervisor, respectively, from Los Angeles; Kelsey Gerckens and Joey Buttitta, dating news anchors from Santa Barbara, California; dating paparazzi from Miami Beach, Florida named Logan Fazio and Chris Gordon; and lastly, friends named Tiffany Chantell Torres and Krista DeBono from Hoboken, N.J., and Staten Island, N.Y., respectively.

The race started at Venice Beach with host Phil Keoghan kicking things off, and in a recent interview, Keoghan teased an interesting shooting location. "Well...we have not orbited the earth. And also, the moon is looking good right now. Wouldn't it be really cool if we were doing 'The Amazing Race' at a point where teams must now make their way to the moon," he said. "250,000 miles to the moon. Once they've landed, they must find the lunar module from 1969. yeah...so that's what's coming up on The Amazing Race next season. Teams are going to the moon," he said. He was obviously joking but mentioned that the show needs to keep things fresh and nothing is fresher than that.

The new season will premiere on Sept. 25 on CBS.
