'The Amazing Race' Season 28 Episode 1 Spoilers: Teams Head to Mexico City
"The Amazing Race" season 28 started on a "virtual starting line," given that this season's contestants are social media and viral personalities, and the teams flew to Mexico City, Mexico for the first leg of the race.
Reality Fan Forum, a popular spoiler forum for "Amazing Race" fans, said that the race started when the host, Phil Keoghan, sent an email to every team stating that they will all go to Mexico City. The social media stars flew out separately from Atlanta, Los Angeles, Miami, and Dallas/Forth Worth airports, and finally caught up with each other in the capital city of Mexico.
The website said that the teams visited the Monument of the Revolution and Plaza Garibaldi before they choose their Detour task. The two options in the Detour are either finding the Mariachi, who is pretending to play in the crowd, or building a frame for a "Torito" and lighting it up.
The next clue points the teams to go to the Cuevas del Parque Tematico Tialocan, where they have to perform a Roadblock. In the task, a team member has to enter the caves and assemble a 13-piece Teotihuacan artifact. Finally, the teams have to rush to the pit stop at Museo Soumaya, where the first team will be eliminated. Watch the teams at Phil's live streaming broadcast last November here.
As previously reported, the final 3 competing in the finale were also leaked on the forums, and among those on the rumored top 3 are Tyler & Korey, Sheri & Cole LaBrant, and Dana Borriello & Matt Steffanina. Best friends Tyler & Korey are both popular YouTube hosts, while Cole, who's being accompanied by his mother, Sheri, is a Vine superstar. On the other hand, engaged couple Dana & Matt are choreographers and YouTube personalities.
Watch the premiere of "The Amazing Race" season 28 episode 1 this Feb. 12, Friday, on CBS.
