'The Americans' Season 4 Spoilers: How Will Philip and Elizabeth Handle Pastor Tim And Will They Get Glanders Out Of Their Home?
The fictional American family, the Jennings, of the critically-acclaimed drama TV series "The Americans" are in a heap of trouble. At the start of Season 4, husband and wife Philip (Matthew Rhys) and Elizabeth (Keri Russell) continue to hide their secret KGB identities from the people around, but at the end of Episode 2, their own daughter, Paige (Holly Taylor) reveals their secret to her friend, Pastor Tim.
According to an episode recap in Design & Trend, this is just one of the many troubles they are in. While they are trying to figure out how to deal with Pastor Tim, Philip is also caught in a bind after his mission failed and he is left holding a lethal pathogen called Glanders. Both Philip and Elizabeth are wary that Glanders is in their home but they need to rely on their handler Gabriel to make sure that it is handed off properly and taken out of their home.
For Elizabeth, she has to deal with a death close to home, that of her mother in Russia. According to the report, the death was mysterious at best and this may likely cause a widening rift between Elizabeth and Gabriel, as he may have something to do with it.

In the upcoming episode titled "Experimental Prototype City of Tomorrow," Gabriel will likely find a way to successfully handle the Glanders pathogen as he had promised he will do. Elizabeth and Philip may need to address the issue of Pastor Tim also, but this may be difficult as each of them have different ideas on how to handle the problem. Elizabeth may try to find out more about her mother's mysterious death and this may likely have implications on her relationship with Gabriel.
According to another report in Cheat Sheet, one of the things that Season 4 will focus on will be the new internal family dynamics after Paige discovers her parents' real identities.
"The Americans" returns for Episode 3 on March 30, on FX.
