'The Ancient Magus' Bride' Episode 2 Spoilers: Will Elias Ainsworth's True Intentions Be Revealed Soon?
All Chise Hatori wanted was for a place to call home, but the mysterious mage Elias Ainsworth has given her more than she could ever hope for on the Japanese fantasy anime series, "Mahoutsukai no Yome" or "The Ancient Magus' Bride." But could all these things eventually come at a price?
The premiere episode introduced viewers to Chise, a 15-year-old girl who has just agreed to be sold into slavery for the sole reason of having a roof above her head. Things quickly took an unexpected turn, however, when the mysterious Thorn Mage, Elias, came to buy her for five million pounds.
Elias told her that she was to become his apprentice and not his slave. The mage has even let her take a proper bath, eat a proper meal, and later had his helper, Silver, take Chise to a proper room to rest for the night.

Everybody else wonders about Elias' true intentions for buying a rare commodity like Chise, who also happens to be a Sleigh Beggy. The term means "little people" in the Manx language, and could also be used to refer to "fairies" in English.
According to Elias, Chise possesses a kind of magic that is able to attract and blend all manners of things. However, this kind of ability could also bring both fortune and misfortune to Chise, the latter of which was proven in the first episode when the ariels, or the fairies who were attracted to new things, tried to lure Chise into their world with very questionable intentions.
What other creatures will Chise be encountering in her new place? The preview has also hinted at some interactions with new people and places as Elias does his duties by her both as her master and potential husband.
Chise's life is about to change in major ways, but one big question still remains: why has the mysterious Elias Ainsworth chosen her as his future bride?
"The Ancient Magus' Bride" airs on Saturdays late night at 1:30 a.m. JST on Tokyo MX and late night at 3:38 a.m. JST on MBS. It also airs on Sundays at 9 p.m. JST on AT-X.
A new episode of the mini-animation short companion series, "Maho-Yome" will be available on the following Tuesday on the series' official Twitter page.
