'The Ancient Magus' Bride' Episode 4 Spoilers: New Errand to Bring Elias and Chise to a Land Full of Cats
Just when it seemed that Elias Ainsworth could finally be displaying some of his mysterious magical skills in a bid to save his apprentice and future bride, Chise Hatori, things took a surprisingly interesting turn on the Japanese romance-fantasy anime series, "The Ancient Magus' Bride."
It can be recalled that while on the way to fulfill an errand for the village priest, Simon Cullum, Elias lost Chise to a dragon that seemingly came out of the sky to grab the girl in its mouth. It was also revealed that the said dragon bore a mysterious rider, who turned out to be none other than Elias' senior and magician master, Lindebaum, also sometimes referred to as Lindel.
But while the two mages took advantage of their reunion by discussing some significant stuff, Chise also bonded with a dying dragon named Nevin, who took her on his final flight via his dreams before dying and turning into a tree, as all dragons were ought to become.
However, his death will also be bringing a new beginning for Chise, after he made it his dying wish to have the girl make a wand out of his branches. Elias vowed that they would return for the branch once Chise got to the point in her apprenticeship where she would finally need a wand.
Now, Elias and Chise are off once again to take care of another errand that has been given to Elias, and one can't help but wonder what role could this journey, along with the various experiences that Chise is about to encounter along the way, be playing in Chise's ongoing magical training with Elias?
The preview for the next episode reveals that the two of them will be heading to a land overrun with cats and a sadness that may lead the girl to finally realize her own cruel duty.
