'The Bachelor' 2017 Spoilers, Rumors & Updates: Jen Saviano Still Not Over Nick Viall? Luke Pell Pursues Music Career After Being Dumped by ABC as Season 21's Leading Man
Rumors circulated weeks ago that "The Bachelor" 2017 Nick Viall dumped Jen Saviano in order to become an eligible gentleman for the gig. The finale of "Bachelor in Paradise" (BIP) Season 3 last week revealed that the couple broke up days before ABC proclaimed Viall as the Season 21's leading man.
Viall Dumped Saviano on National TV
Viall became a familiar face in the reality dating game show after he ended as the two-time runner-up of "The Bachelorette" seasons of Kaitlyn Bristowe and Andi Dorfman. After getting dumped twice on national TV, the 35-year-old ex-Chicago salesman found himself on the other side of the breakup on Tuesday's BIP finale. He refused to give Saviano the proposal she badly wanted on the final episode.
The PIB finale saw Saviano telling Viall that she is in love with him. However, Viall broke into tears and said that Saviano deserves someone better than him. He explained that a part of him is telling that it was time to say goodbye.
Still Bitter?
The BIP finale also featured Saviano talking about the awkward rejection on TV from Viall. Saviano told hosts Sean Lowe and Michelle Collins that she is doing well and has moved on from the split. The 26-year-old fashion boutique owner shared that she has mixed emotions about Viall's casting as Season 21's leading man, but she is feeling good.
After the BIP finale, Saviano also posted a photo of herself on Instagram, showing viewers what she did moments after Viall dumped her on national TV. She said that she ordered an extra-large pizza, drank a bottle of wine and watched "How To Lose a Guy in Ten Days."
Luke Pell's Backup Plan
Aside from Saviano, Viall's casting as "The Bachelor" 2017 also affected fan-favorite Luke Pell. The producers of the dating show originally tapped Pell as Season 21's leading man, however, they made a last-minute decision to dump him and go for Viall.
According to The Washington Post, Pell told SiriusXM radio that he feels frustrated about ABC's move to abruptly dump him out from the gig. The 31-year-old Texan said that the network did not handle the last-minute decision in the best way.
However, Pell added that he is still completely happy about the turnout of events because he can now focus on his country music career. He said that he it has been his lifelong dream to make a career in the country music scene.
Pell, who came in fourth place on JoJo Fletcher's season, plays in a band at Texas. Some of his songs are currently available on Spotify. He also aims to release more songs in the coming months.
