JoJo Fletcher, the new Bachelorette, says that she is already "connecting" with the contestants in the show's new season and that her goal is to "be engaged" and to eventually get married.

In a recent interview on "Good Morning America," the 25-year-old real estate developer and "The Bachelor" runner-up spoke about how the 12th season of "The Bachelorette," which is currently in production, is progressing and shared that she has already began to develop feelings for some of the guys on the show.

"I am connecting with these guys," Fletcher said. "I'm having fun with them. I'm actually feeling feelings, which I didn't expect so early on."

In the recently concluded "The Bachelor," Fletcher lost out to 25-year-old Lauren Bushnell, who was ultimately handed the final rose and is now engaged to "The Bachelor" season 20 star Ben Higgins. Though Fletcher admitted that she spent several weeks getting over Higgins, the new Bachelorette also said that she has no hard feelings towards him and that they are no longer in touch.

Despite her heartache from "The Bachelor," Fletcher said that she's ready for a new relationship and that she wants marriage and a family. "I want to be engaged," she shared.

And it appears that she now has a better idea of what she's looking for in a potential partner.

"I'm looking for a man that can make me feel safe and protected, and somebody that I can trust," Fletcher said.

Meanwhile, as "The Bachelorette" films for its latest season, creator and executive producer Mike Fleiss has been keeping fans updated by live-tweeting what's happening behind the scenes.

In a recent tweet, Fleiss suggested that Fletcher's suitors definitely don't disappoint in terms of looks.

"According to our female crew members, this is one of the hottest casts we've ever had," the "Bachelorette" boss posted on Twitter on Monday, March 22.

Before that, he hinted that the show may have gone international. "Tonight's date is in one of the most romantic cities in the country - or the world!" he wrote.

Of course, it won't be "The Bachelorette" without some drama.

"According to our producers, yesterday's group date was 'the most dramatic - ever!'" he tweeted on Thursday, March 24.

"The Bachelorette" season 12 premieres May 23 on ABC.
