'The Big Bang Theory' Season 8: Episode 19 Recap 'The Skywalker Incursion'

After a three-week hiatus, "The Big Bang Theory" returns with an all-new episode which sees Leonard and Sheldon as they scheme to get into Skywalker Ranch, while Howard fights to keep his beloved "Doctor Who" TARDIS from being sold at Bernadette's garage sale.

Leonard and Sheldon have been invited to give a lecture at UC Berkeley, so they go on a road trip. They pass the time by playing games, and Sheldon is in an unusually good mood as he encourages Leonard to play music in the car.

Later, it occurs to them that they aren't far from Skywalker Ranch, George Lucas' famous headquarters, so Sheldon suggests that maybe they should drop by.

They arrive at the gate, and Leonard has no idea what to say to the intercom as a reason for being there. Sheldon yells that they want to play with George Lucas. Fortunately, the intercom appears to be broken so the gate attendant opens the gate.

Down the road, another security gate appears and Leonard tells the guards that they're just two physicists killing time before they talk about their paper and that they just want to meet George Lucas. Sheldon interrupts and pretends to be the voice of Yoda. The guard declines to let them in but he offers them a t-shirt and a hat. Sheldon attempts to get past him and gets tased.

The roommates are sent to a detention room, where the other occupant is a man who is a huge fan of Lucas' films. He said that he got caught kissing a Chewbacca sculpture. Fortunately, Lucas is not filing charges so the guard lets Leonard and Sheldon go.

Meanwhile, in the Wolowitz' garage, Bernadette is rounding up objects for her garage sale. Howard discovers a yellow sticker on his "Doctor Who" TARDIS, and he argues with his wife about it since he never agreed to sell it. Raj suggests that they should decide the fate of the TARDIS by playing a game of ping-pong. Bernadette thinks this isn't fair since Howard grew up playing the game.

So, Bernadette chooses Penny, and Howard chooses Raj who was a badminton champion in his posh school in India. When Raj appears to be winning, Amy says that he can take the TARDIS home if he lets Penny win, so Raj starts throwing the game. Howard then replaces him with Amy, who appears to be good at serving but can't return the hits. Then, Amy chooses Raj to play for him.

As Amy is about to win, Bernadette says that if Raj wins, she can have the TARDIS for her bedroom doors.

The episode ends with Amy looking at the TARDIS, which is now a permanent fixture in her bedroom. Sheldon, in full "Doctor Who" regalia, bursts through the doors and says "The Daleks are on my tail, but I left my sonic screwdriver behind!" Amy thinks that she should have really thought this through.

"The Big Bang Theory" airs on Thursdays at 8/7c on CBS.
