'The Big Bang Theory' season 9 episode 2 spoilers and pilot episode recap: Sheldon and Amy break up; Leonard and Penny elope
On the next episode of "The Big Bang Theory" entitled "The Separation Oscillation," the synopsis reads, in order to ease Penny's mind, Leonard pays a visit to the woman he kissed during his expedition to the North Sea, while Sheldon's breakup with Amy leads him to retaliate by shooting a special episode of "Fun With Flags." Later, Bernadette is wracked with guilt over withholding a secret from Penny.
In the promo for the episode, it seems that rebuilding the broken relationships will be very hard for everyone's favorite characters. The fans will get to see the woman Leonard kissed, whose name is Mandy. In the meantime, Sheldon will do a special "Fun with Flags" episode where he dissects the breakup and slams Amy online. This will only make things worse between the two.
The pilot episode began where the last season left off with Penny and Leonard in a chapel in Las Vegas. They decided to continue their plans, despite the fact that Penny just found out about Leonard and the fact that he kissed someone in the North Pole. The topic went on the back burner as they availed of a wedding package that included an online screening.

While Penny and Leonard were waiting for their turn, Leonard got a call from Sheldon, who was unhappy about Amy's request for a time out. Sheldon then went to visit Amy only to discover that she was going out without him. Amy was going to watch the wedding of Penny and Leonard at Howard and Bernadette's house.
Sheldon followed Amy to the house of Howard and Bernadette where everyone has gathered to watch the wedding. A fight between Sheldon and Amy ensued, which caused everyone to miss Leonard and Penny exchange vows and say I do. Amy officially broke things off with Sheldon after he insulted her.
After the wedding, Penny and Leonard were kissing, but Penny could not stop thinking about the other woman and she asked if he felt guilty about it. Leonard replied that he does every time he sees her in the office. They fought and a discussion ensued.
Sheldon talked to his mother and he told her about his breakup with Amy. Penny and Leonard returned home and Sheldon payed a visit to Penny. Sheldon left when he discovered that it was Penny who advised Amy to do what was best for her. The episode ends with Sheldon and Leonard as they hung out in their apartment.
